Man arrested for allegedly killing his male friend before having unnatural sex with dead body in Derry

New Delhi: A 36-year-old man was arrested Friday on suspicion of killing his male friend and then having unnatural sex with the corpse in a case known as necrophilia, police said.
The person arrested has been identified as Pervinder. The incident happened on February 9 at his rented house in Singhu village, Alipur district.
According to police, Pervinder worked as a helper at a bicycle repair shop in Singhu village and was addicted to alcohol.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Kumar Singh said that on February 11, the Alipur police station received a call. The call mentioned that “Pervinder’s body was found”.
“A police team arrived where they found a naked body in the room … blood was oozing from the head and other body parts of the deceased,” the DCP said.
To the team’s surprise, the body was not Pervinder but someone unknown, the officer said.
“The person who was thought to be dead suddenly became the prime suspect in the case. Police then conducted an investigation to identify the deceased, but all efforts were in vain. Hence, the body was kept at BJRM Hospital Jahangirpuri,” the DCP said.
A case was opened and investigated under Section 302 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
During the investigation, it was learned that Pervinder, a resident of Janti Kalan in Sonipat, Haryana, had been missing for several days and his mobile phone was also found switched off.
“His whereabouts are unknown because he is known to live alone and not interact much with others,” the official said.
“Meanwhile, the police team set up to identify the deceased conducted more investigations into any missing persons, during which one man said his brother had been missing for the last three days. The assailants showed him pictures of the deceased, who had been His older brother recognized it as Raja (pseudonym), “the official said.
Police scanned more than 100 CCTV cameras in an effort to track down Pervinder but were unable to track down the accused.
The police also questioned relatives and friends of the suspect, and found that Pavind had been living alone in a rental house in Xinghu Village for the past four months. His wife used to live with him but she also left him due to his alcohol addiction and unnatural sexual tendencies,” the DCP said.
According to the clues developed, raids were carried out in different places.
“On Wednesday, Pervinder was arrested at a place near MCD Park on his way to Singhu Village Bus Stand,” the official said.
After questioning, he revealed that about 8 to 10 days before the incident, he met Raja at a wine shop in Xinghu Village and became friends.
“On February 9, Pervinder drank alcohol at his rented accommodation and then attempted to have unnatural sex with Raja. However, when Raja objected to him, Pervinder strangled him with a towel. He then had sex with him. Unnatural sex took place, a blanket was placed over the victim’s body and he fled there,” the officer said.
“From there, the defendant went to Sonipat, Haryana, and joined a bicycle circus where he started showing bicycle racing. He stayed there for about 12-15 days, then went to Panipat and started doing Some manual work. There, he stayed for about 10-15 days,” the official said.
“Later, he went to Samarka, Haryana, where he worked as a worker in a brick kiln. After failing to find a job for the last four or five days, he came to his hometown of Jhanti Kalan to borrow money from a friend. But no one gave him money. Later, he came to Singhu village and was eventually arrested by the police,” said DCP Ravi Kumar Singh.
