Visakhapatnam: A freight train derailed between Thadi and Anakapalle railway stations in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, affecting the movement of trains along the way.
The derailment of a coal-laden freight train at around 3:35 a.m. affected train operations on the Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada route.
Southern Central Railway has canceled at least six trains and rescheduled several others because of the incident.
The following trains scheduled to start travel on Wednesday have been cancelled – train numbers 12805 Visakhapatnam-Lingampalli, 22701 Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada, 22702 Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam and 17240 Visakhapatnam-Guntur.
Two trains scheduled to depart on Thursday have also been cancelled. They are – 12806 Lingampalli-Visakhapatnam and 17239 Guntur-Visakhapatnam.
