Karan Mehta worked and assisted on the set of ‘Raees’, ‘Lust Stories’ and more before making her big debut as an actor

Hyderabad: Yes, you read that right! Karan Mehta, who shines in Anurag Kashyap’s “Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat” released in February, broke his family’s TV while watching a movie during his formative years.
Karan has been a movie buff since she was a child, and has always dreamed of becoming an actor. The young talented actor worked and assisted in such films as “Raees”, “Lust Stories” before debuting as an actor.
Karan shared an interesting anecdote about his passion for film, Karan is quoted as saying to a popular magazine: “When Suniel Shetty was beaten up in the movie, I broke my father’s TV. I’ve re-watched “Dhoom” a hundred times. I remember those things vividly, because a movie that makes you feel that way is a great feeling for me, and that’s what I want to do.”
Anurag Kashyap’s daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap, informed the filmmakers of the incident after seeing Karan’s clip on YouTube. Kashyap later told Karan the story of “Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat” (APWDM) and asked him to prepare for his debut by attending workshops and training sessions.
Callan’s debut film, which premiered at the prestigious Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco, was well received by the industry, audiences and critics alike, and now the critically acclaimed film will premiere on Netflix this month.
Apart from movies, Karan is also a sports enthusiast and has participated in various school competitions such as cricket, football, and table tennis.
