Hanamkonda: The highly anticipated district-level CM Cup will kick off on May 22, and all preparations have been made. The three-day event will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and aims to discover and support talented athletes from both rural and urban areas. More than 1,700 athletes from cities across the province will showcase their skills in this grand sports event. To ensure smooth execution, various management committees have been formed headed by regional collector Sikta Patnaik.
These committees will oversee important aspects of food management, sanitation, medical services, hospitality, opening and closing ceremonies, and cultural programs. The Sports Management Selection Committee is composed of representatives of sports associations, coaches, athletes, physical education teachers, etc.
Precautions have been taken to ensure the health of participants during the summer. As said by District Sports and Youth Officer (DYSO) Ashok, the matches will be played according to the schedule to ensure fairness in the selection process for the district teams.
Athletes representing the region in the upcoming state-level CM Cup tournament in Hyderabad on May 28 will receive special sportswear. Signage for each sports field will be installed at the main entrance for easy navigation. Coaches and managers must submit their entry form and their Aadhaar cards to the Reception Committee upon arrival. Participation must provide proof of real identity. Races will start at 7am each morning.
