Hyderabad: On Sunday, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) organized an industry engagement program at the Imarat Research Center (RCI) to understand the concerns of the defense industry, including MSMEs and start-ups.
According to a press release published here, the interactive initiative aims to bring all defense industries together on one platform to understand their concerns while raising awareness of DRDO’s various industry-friendly initiatives and policies. More than 180 industries participated in the event.
Samir V Kamat, Secretary of Defense (R&D) and Chairman of DRDO, who chaired the brainstorming session, assured the industry that DRDO will provide all possible support to industry and play a mentor role in building their capabilities to make India a cyber defense nation export business.
Arun Chaudhary, Director of Industrial Interface and Technology Directorate (DIITM), explained DRDO’s “technology transfer” process to the industry, proposing the salient features of the policy. He also detailed DRDO policies and procedures for Indian industry to use its infrastructure testing facilities and DRDO patents.
During the event, an overview of the System for Advanced Manufacturing Assessment and Ranking (SAMAR) and an IT online model for digital assessment, with geo-tagging and time-stamping, were also presented.
