Hyderabad: The Ecolastic Eagles continued their strong start with another sweeping victory over the BHGCC Raiders 3.5-1.5 in the Titan Eye Cemetrix T9 Challenge at Boulder Mountain Golf and Country Club on Sunday.
The Novotel Stars and the Jagruti Jaguars faced off in the main game of the day, and the game ended in a 2-2 draw between the two sides. The Jaguars’ Nikhil Matur and Aruli Srinivas Rao scored another win, with Fintan O’Dwyer’s scorching putt giving the Stars a jolt.
Team Cemetrix bounced back from the previous round to beat TGF Backspinners 3-1 in a close match. Three of the four games came down to the last minute, and the outcome could be reversed if the Backspinners win the final hole.
The defending champion Boulder Hills Tigers defeated the bottom of the standings Boulder Ninjas 4-0. The win moves them up to fifth, just 1.5 points off fourth. Strong performances in the next three games could help them make a comeback and knock out one of the top four.
Cemetrix had a relatively easy half-time as they look to advance, while joint leaders Jaagruthi Jaguars and the Ecolastic Eagles face their toughest test with the remaining three games.
After a frustrating week after a promising start, the Raiders remain the only team to amass the lone point with the Ninjas. The team performed well below its capacity, but they could still create some upsets as qualifying heats up. The semi-final matchup will be decided next weekend.
result: Novotel Stars 2-2 Jaagruthi Jaguars, Cemetrix 3-1 TGF Backspinners, Ecolastic Eagles 3.5-0.5 BHGCC Raiders, Boulder Hills Tigers 4-0 Boulder Ninjas.
