Jaipur: Three students in Kota, two from Bihar and one from Madhya Pradesh, committed suicide within 24 hours, sending the education city into shock.
So far, no suicide notes related to the events have been found, police said.
Two coaching students allegedly committed suicide in the same dormitory on Monday, while another suicide case surfaced in the morning when a student was found dead in his room.
The dead, who were found hanging from a ceiling fan, have been identified as NEET candidate Ankush Anand (18), a resident of Supaul district, Bihar, and JEE candidate Ujjwal Kumar (17), from Gaya district, according to the police. After receiving the news, the police, including the city police chief, rushed to the scene.
Anand and Kumar, who lived in the same house as paying guests (PGs) in Jawaharnagar Police Station Talwandi area, were found hanging from ceiling fans in their respective rooms on Monday morning.
The remains of the two deceased are in the hospital mortuary. Relatives have been notified. Earlier in the episode, a case of a coaching student’s suicide after allegedly taking poison surfaced.
The student, identified as Pranav Verma (17), is preparing for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. He allegedly took poison late on Sunday night at his hotel in the Kunhari Police Station area, which resulted in his death.
Police are taking further action on the case.
Jawahar Nagar Police Station is investigating the entire incident.
