Jaipur: Suresh Mishra, national chairman of Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha, has demanded an immediate ban on the movie ‘Adipurush’ starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan.
Claiming to have hatched a plot to insult “Hanuman ji” and other gods through “Adipurush”, Mishra slammed the inappropriate use of computer graphics by the film’s main characters.
Misra also stated that all dialogue in the film is baseless.
Responding to writer Manoji Montahir’s recent statement about changing the film’s dialogue, Mishra said, “Changing the dialogue will not stop us from protesting. This film should be banned immediately. Misrepresentation of the Ramayana is intolerable of.”
“This movie sends a very contradictory message to society. Movies affect people’s minds. That’s why special care has to be taken that movies don’t tamper with religion and culture. The appearance of the mythical characters and their dialogue in the movie are sub-par .This movie misrepresents the characters of Lord Rama, Hanuman, Sita and Ravin. This movie is an insult to Ramayana. It’s like playing with the beliefs of Hindus,” said Mishra.
“It is absolutely wrong that gods and goddesses are shown in fictional ways in movies. We will not tolerate this. A year ago, Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha, through his advocate Kamlesh Sharma, sent a notice to the director of the film, Om Raut. At that time , Low has said that there will be no mistakes in the movie. But we are now seeing all the characters of the Ramayana being teased in the movie,” he added.
Mishra asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gerot to ban the film immediately and called for a public boycott of the film.
Mishra said the court has also appealed the matter.
