Hyderabad: On International Day of Families (May 15), Zee Theater will present three richly layered plays that cut through the emotions of joy, togetherness, loss and the unspeakable anxieties of most family units. Three dramas depict family dynamics on different levels and will keep you engrossed.
Dakgar
Set in rural Bengali, Rabindranath Tagore’s poignant drama ‘Daak Ghar’ explores the psyche of Amal, an orphan locked away by his adoptive father due to a terminal illness at home. The show sensitively portrays that family comes in many forms, and that we can form deep bonds even with those not related by blood. From national award-winning director Nagesh Kukunoor, it stars Krrish Chhabria, Saurabh Goel, Kumar Rajput, Kishor Chandra Srivastava and Anupriya Goenka.
Richton Live
It’s a slice-of-life drama that explores modern family dynamics and the widening generation gap between parents and children. When the “dysfunctional” Sharmas took part in the reality show “Rishton Ka Live Telecast,” they became aware of their unresolved issues in their family.
