Bharat Rashtra Samithi held continues to attract many people from different states, especially from neighboring Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) promise of a new era in national politics continues to attract many from different states, especially from neighboring Andhra Pradesh.
Former ministers and bureaucrats from the AP will now join the BRS in the new year, after farmers, students and other segments of society recently announced their support for the latest mission of party chairman and chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Former minister Ravela Kishore Babu, retired IAS officer Thota Chandrashekhar and former Indian Revenue Service official Chintala Parthasarathi are likely to join the BRS on Monday in the presence of Chandrashekhar Rao. Several other leaders will join the party with them.
Ravela Kishore Babu was SC and ST Welfare Minister of Andhra Pradesh during Telugu Desan regime from 2014 to 2018. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and served as vice president of the Associated Press from 2020 to 2022.
Kishore Babu was an All India Service Officer of the 1987 Batch and worked closely with Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram from 1996 to 2000.
Likewise, Thota Chandrasekhar, a former IAS official who worked with the Jana Sena party, will also join the BRS. He is from the Kapu community, has run in several elections and is an experienced leader of the state. Parthasarathi, who campaigned on the Jana Sena ballot in the Anakapalle parliamentary constituency in 2019, is also likely to join the BRS on Monday.
Former Praja Rajyam party leader Thummalasetty Jaya Prakash Narayana will also join the BRS on Monday. He joined Praja Rajyam in 2008 and was actively involved in the building of party cadres in 14 constituencies of AP Anantapur district. He stood in the 2009 parliamentary elections for the Anantapur urban constituency and received nearly 30,000 votes.
Rayapati Jagadish, chairman of the AP Youth and Students Joint Action Committee, welcomed the decision of the ex-minister and ex-bureaucrat to join the BRS. It is a good sign that their decision to join the BRS will pave the way for development in Andhra Pradesh, he said in a statement on Sunday.
Andhra Pradesh has failed on all fronts for the past nine years under the Telugu Sam and YSR Congress government. Apart from youth, farmers, women and all other segments of the state are facing serious difficulties, he said.
Despite AP’s abundance of natural resources, a lack of committed leadership has adversely affected the state’s prospects, he said.
“Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has developed Telangana in all areas with his vision. He is the only leader who can solve the problems of Andhra Pradesh and ensure the development of the country. His vision and commitment to all other leaders of the country,” he said Impressed, they will give a warm welcome to BRS.
Impressed by the Chief Minister’s ‘Ab ki Baar, Kisan Sarkar’ campaign, BC leaders and politicians from the Krishna and Guntur districts of Andhra Pradesh expressed interest in joining the BRS.
Guriparthi Ramakrishna Yadav, former chairman of the Krishna District Sheep Breeders Cooperative, and several BC leaders also met the Chief Minister here a few days ago.
