Hyderabad: BRS Chairman and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, holding successive governments at the center accountable for their failure to provide basic amenities, sounded the clarion call to the people of the country to raise the chant of “Chand Sitare Chodo, Paani Aur Bijili Jodo” (forget bringing the moon and the stars, at least give us water and electricity).

He expressed concern over the failure of the government to provide safe drinking water, irrigation facilities and normal electricity supply to farming communities in India’s 75 years of independence. He called on the people of the whole country to wake up and oppose the one-sided policy adopted by the central government in this regard.

Chandrashekhar Rao was speaking at a massive gathering of leaders and activists from Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra who joined the BRS in Pragathi Bhavan on Wednesday. The outflow from Maharashtra to BRS continues, although the outflow from Madhya Pradesh is strong.

He said people were suffering because of the lack of integrity of the central ruling party.
“Why don’t other states of the country follow the path of development when all sectors of Telangana are successfully implementing development programs? Are we asking for the moon and stars to be plucked and distributed? We are only seeking the essential drinking water, irrigation water that nature provides And electricity. Forget about the moon and stars, but at least give us water and electricity,” he demanded.

The BRS chairman said India would lead the world if its available natural resources were used optimally. Drinking water, electricity and irrigation facilities are at the top of the BRS agenda, he added.

Anand Roy, a prominent RTI and tribal rights activist who exposed the Vyapam scam, has joined the BRS giant in neighboring Madhya Pradesh. Prominent tribal rights group Jai Adivasi Yuvashakti Sangathan (JAYS) has also pledged support for BRS in Madhya Pradesh.

JAYS Chairman Lal Singh Burman, Pancham Bheel, Ashwin Dube, Gaziram Badole, Kailash Rana and others also joined the BRS. On Wednesday, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao presented them with pink scarves to usher them into the party.

Vikram Achalia, founder of JAYS, said that in India’s 75 years of independence, the aspirations of the poor, the backward classes, Dalits and Adivasis have not been fulfilled. However, he opined that Chandrashekar Rao had successfully implemented numerous welfare and development programs in a humanitarian manner for the advancement of SC, ST, BC and ethnic minorities in Telangana, thereby gaining popularity among the people of the country Confidence in making wishes come true.

Meanwhile, in Maharashtra, the influx of political parties into the BRS continues unabated. Attracted by the BRS chairman’s vision and development agenda, several former MLAs and leaders from the BJP and Shiv Sena, along with more than 50 sarpanches and people from various social organizations, visited the Chief Minister of Pragati Bhavan on Wednesday and expressed their opinion. Get ready to work in BRS in Maharashtra. They joined the party in the presence of Chandrashekhar Rao.

A delegation of sarpanches visited Telangana recently and checked its development model in various fields and implementation of welfare and development programs, which prompted them to join BRS.
