Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a plastic bottle manufacturing plant in the Katedan area of Mailardevpally on the outskirts of the city on Friday morning. The unit was closed at the time of the accident, so no injuries were reported, police said.
Officials suspect a short circuit as a possible cause of the fire. The unit was closed after hours on Thursday night and workers had left.
According to police, the plastic unit was located near a residential area, and locals noticed flames and smoke coming from the unit early in the morning and notified the fire department and police personnel.
The fire was extinguished within an hour. The total value of the damaged property has not been estimated.
