Up to 28 pupils at Racharlagollapalli Primary School in Yellareddypet mandal fell ill, reportedly due to food poisoning
Rajanna-Sircilla: Up to 28 pupils at Racharlagollapalli Primary School in Yellareddypet mandal fell ill on Friday, reportedly due to food poisoning.
As the water filter has been under repair for the past three days, the school has hired a water tanker to supply water for cooking for the lunch program and for drinking purposes.
However, students complained of throwing up and getting sick after preparing food with water from tanker trucks and drinking the same. Of the 70 students who drank the same water and food, 28 became ill, officials said.
Staff from the community health center visited the school and treated the student. Ten students were transferred to Sircilla Hospital for treatment. Tahsildar Jayanth also visited the school and asked about the incident.
