Hyderabad: Entertainment site IMDb has just released its list of the most anticipated Indian movies of the summer. The list includes 10 Indian films scheduled to be released in India between May 1 and August 31. According to the report, the list is determined based on the actual page views of global websites with more than 200 million monthly visits from 2023 to the present.

Jawan, the action-thriller directed by Atri and starring Shah Rukh Khan, is the most anticipated movie of the summer, with fans looking forward to seeing King Khan in action. The film also marks the Hindi debuts of actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. Originally scheduled for release in June, it has reportedly been pushed back to October.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga of ‘Arjun Reddy’ fame is back to wow audiences with crime drama ‘Animal’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. It also stars Anil Kapoor and Parnineeti Chopra in key roles. The film, which ranks second on the list of most anticipated movies, will be released on August 11.
Adiprush
Om Raut’s mythological film “Adipurush,” starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, is the third most anticipated film on the list. The film is Raut’s interpretation of the “Ramayana” story written by Valmiki. While the trailer has been criticized by some for its poor visual effects, the pan-India film is touted as the most anticipated release due to hit theaters on June 16 this year.

Helmed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and starring Ajay Devgn and Priyamani, it was inspired by Syed Abdul Rahim, coach and manager of India’s national football team, dubbed the “Architect of Indian Football”. According to IMDb, the sixth most anticipated movie will hit theaters on June 23.
Yoda
Directed by debut duo Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, Sidharth Malhotra stars in this action flick that revolves around a plane hijacking. The film, starring Raashi Khanna and Disha Patani, is No. 7 on the IMDb list and opens July 7.
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani
Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the film will mark Karan Johar’s return to directing, seven years after his last venture ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. The film also stars Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan, who will reunite on the big screen after five years. The film ranks eighth on the list and will be released on July 28.

Prasanth Varma’s ambitious pan-Indian superhero flick “HanuMan” ranks ninth on the list of most anticipated movies. As the title suggests, the main character of this film is inspired by Lord Hanuman. Originally scheduled for release on May 12, it has been pushed back to an unknown date. The film, starring Teja Sajja and Amritha Aiyer, will also be released in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Japanese.

Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming ‘Custody’ with Venkat Prabhu is the 10th most anticipated film of the season. The film, starring Arvind Swamy as the antagonist, is an action thriller and will be released in Telugu and Tamil theaters on May 12. Chris Shetty is the heroine and the film’s music is composed by masters Eliya Raja and Yuwan Shankar Raja.
