Hyderabad: The mission of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is to increase the green coverage of the city and provide more recreational space for people through the development of parks.
One such example is Nehru Park at SRT Colony in Sanathnagar, which spans over 2,300 square meters and was developed as part of the Telangana government’s aim to expand greenery while providing people with places to spend quality time. place. This lung space features in-store entertainment for people of all ages. The park features tennis courts, walking trails, a dedicated yoga space, lounge areas, a dedicated children’s play area, and more. The children’s play area features garden slides, among other rides, and the walls of the facility are beautifully designed with pencil illustrations. Instead of laying an ordinary floor or filling the area with sand, the children’s play area has a colorful carpet floor, which not only makes the area lively, but also ensures that children will not get hurt.
A waterfall at the park entrance and another metal artwork depicting a bird’s nest enhance the park’s aesthetic. The new facility also houses a community hall, currently used as the GHMC district office. With several large trees, lush landscaping and seating arrangements, visitors to the GHMC district office also appreciate the lung space here.
Officials noted that developing such a lung space in the middle of the concrete building would be of great help to local residents. “Our focus is to utilize the available vacant space to develop facilities that not only promote environmental protection but also provide breathing space for locals,” an official said.
G Radheshhyam, a visitor from the district government who came to the park, praised the park. “This type of ride in the center of a densely populated area is great for families, especially children,” he said. GHMC is also looking for vacant land to be converted into a park, and an unused space in the old MIG colony Serilingampally, once bewildered by trash, has recently been developed into a theme park.
