New Delhi: A 7-year-old girl was allegedly sexually harassed by a toy store salesperson at Delhi’s V3S mall, an official said on Tuesday.
The official said they had arrested the accused Dheeraj Kumar (30), a resident of Sarita Vihar.
According to the police, PCR received a call on April 30 about a salesperson harassing an underage girl at a toy store in V3S shopping mall near Laxmi Nagar.
“After questioning, it was found that the girl came to the mall with her grandmother. When the grandmother went to the bathroom, the girl entered the toy store where the defendant beat her,” said a senior police officer.
DCW provided counseling to the seven-year-old girl, who also underwent medical examination at Hedgewar Hospital.
“A case was registered under Section 354 of the IPC and 10 POCSO Act and Dheeraj was arrested from the mall in the case of the victim,” the official added.
