How a visit to a village inspired this Year 11 student from Hyderabad to launch 'Stories on Wheels'

The library has a large collection of books that students can access at any time when they visit the school in the mobile library

Hyderabad: Ananya Polsani, a Grade 11 student from Hyderabad, a holiday to Kodurupaka village in Karimnagar district inspired him to launch Stories on Wheels, a mobile library that provides access to books and assists rural students in public schools .

The library has a large collection that students can access whenever the mobile library visits schools in rural areas.

The idea to help rural students with necessary resources came to Ananya when she visited her grandparents. Ananya’s grandfather suggested that she visit local public schools while at home.

In her interactions with students and staff, Ananya feels that much can be done to enrich the existing potential of students.

Students have great potential and great aspirations, which leads her to find ways to add quality to their lives and inspire a strong sense of doing something that will benefit them.

“On the way back to Hyderabad, I had the idea of building a library for rural students in Telangana,” said Ananya, a Grade 11 student at Chirec Public School. The enterprising young man obtained a second-hand ambulance, books, sports equipment, and internet-connected laptops from several tech companies from donors, and used crowdfunding to transform the interior and exterior of the ambulance into a A mobile book cart.

The young girl said her goal is to continue contributing to society. “My goal is to provide the resources needed to help rural students pursue interests outside of studies such as sports, literary activities and e-learning all under one roof,” she said.
