Hyderabad: Four people, including a woman, were arrested by Kamatipura police on Tuesday after they suffocated a technician at his home in the old town of Fateh Darwaza over property issues.
Those arrested today were Shakera Begum (39), Syed Irfan (30), real estate transaction agent, Shiva Kumar (35), event manager and Syed Azeem (18), a private employee.
The victim, Mir Basith Ali (30 years old), lost his parents and lived in a three-storey building. His aunt also lived in the same building after her husband died. The Shakera and Basith families reportedly have shares in the ancestral estate.
According to police, a disagreement arose between Basith Ali and Shakera over the 500-square-metre building. “Shakera was frustrated that Basith did not give her rent and share of the property and did not allow her to sell it,” said Inspector T Komaraiah of Kamatipura Police Station.
Over a period of time, Shakera developed a friendship with Gachibowli’s Syed Irfan, and the two developed an intimate relationship. Irfan agrees to help her in the dispute, and hires Shiva and Azem to kill Bass and wait for the opportunity.
“On Tuesday, when Basith was alone in the house, Shakera informed Irfan, who entered the house with Shiva and Azeem and attacked the victim. Irfan brought some notarized documents and stamped the paper with his thumb. Afterwards, everyone poured whiskey into Bath’s mouth and suffocated him,” the Inspector said.
After the murder, Shakla and others tried to portray it as a suicide case. However, police later discovered he had been murdered and four people were arrested. They are all remanded in custody.
