The attacker, who shared an apartment with other students including the victim, was identified by local police as a Brazilian youth.
According to reports, the Brazilian youth attacked Tejaswini and her friend Akhila with a knife. While Tejaswini died of stab wounds, reports said her friend Akhila was critically injured and was fighting for her life in a London hospital.
The victim, from Champapet, had recently completed higher education in the UK and planned to return. Local police in London have apparently taken the attacker into custody. Tejaswini’s family has reportedly urged authorities to make arrangements to return the victim’s remains as soon as possible.
