Hyderabad: On Wednesday, a local court convicted and sentenced a man to two years in prison and fined Rs 3,000 for giving false evidence in a case and showing hostility in court.
According to ACB official P Narsing, ACB officers set a trap and arrested an official in 2007 after a resident of Secunderabad lodged a complaint against an official accusing him of extorting bribes.
“During the case, Nassin became hostile by deviating from the complaint filed with the ACB and gave false evidence in court. The case ultimately ended with the acquittal of the accused,” an ACB official said.
As the events unfolded, the ACB prosecution filed a perjury case against Narsing Rao and after the trial was completed, the CMM Court delivered the verdict.
