Hyderabad: As Indian Premier League (IPL) matches continue to attract cricket fans, the Hyderabad Metro (HMR) has become a popular mode of transport to the stadiums. In a city where traffic jams can be a major hindrance, the metro has proven to be a convenient and time-saving way to get to and from the cricket ground.
Hyderabad Stadium Metro Station has seen a surge in traffic during the IPL season, with enthusiastic fans flocking to watch the games.
On average, the station handles around 3,000 passengers per day, including arriving and departing passengers. During race days, however, ridership soared to an impressive 12,000, with a record high of 14.5K for one race.
To ensure smooth operations and hassle-free travel for passengers, more than 100 dedicated staff are deployed at the Stadium Metro Station during game days.
A spokesman for L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited said staff were working tirelessly to manage the increased ridership, even late at night.
