Hyderabad: Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement (H-NEW) along with Mangalhat Police busted a drug ring and arrested four people including three drug traffickers on Saturday. Officials seized 72kg of marijuana, 1.8kg of cannabis seeds, a car and four mobile phones worth a total of Rs 2.5 lakh.
Those arrested included major dealer Akash Singh from Lower Dhoolpet, Ramjal Narsimha from Suchitra, Neeraj Prasad Tiwari from Dhoolpet and Sheik Subhani from Khammam.
Police said Akash Singh had been procuring marijuana from dealers in Visakhapatnam and Odisha, as well as Sheik Subhani, since 2018. He sold marijuana to customers at high prices.He was detained earlier under the Preventive Detention Act
He was involved in five cases at various police stations in Hyderabad and was detained under the Preventive Detention Act in 2021 and released in June 2022.
Hyderabad police said 23 drug users have been identified so far and investigations are ongoing to identify others.
