Hyderabad: The Federation of North East Colonies of Secunderabad (FNECS) said on Monday that despite the clear order from the Ministry of Defense (MoD) to reopen five major roads under the Secunderabad Camp Board (SCB) road, there are still some traffic flow restrictions. in these places.
Members of FNECS have requested that Telangana National Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses be allowed to run between Lakdawala Junction and Balaji Nagar/Yapral via Richardson Road as earlier. They are also asking for permission for cars (car sharing) to be allowed between Lakdawala Junction in Rajiv Rahadari and Balaji Nagar/Yapral via Richardson Road.
Earlier, on May 2, in a letter to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SCB, FNECS requested that road closures be lifted and public transport services including TSRTC buses resumed.
In the letter, they also mentioned that the reopened crossings were manned by army sentries who were conducting identity checks on all civilians, noting that the Defense Department order did not specify any such checks.
“RTC buses, car-shares, school buses and other public transport between Lakdawala Junction and Balaji Nagar/Yapral must be resumed immediately,” said FNECS Secretary CS Chandrashekhar, adding that pedestrians, cyclists and morning walkers should also are allowed to use these roads.
