VVS Laxman launched special t-shirts and medals for the fifth “Whiteathon Run-2023” on Sunday

halways: On Sunday, National Cricket Academy (NCA) Head Coach VVS Laxman unveiled special t-shirts and medals for the fifth edition of the ‘Whiteathon Run-2023’ organized by LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) to spread awareness about eye cancer5 21st at the University campus in Hyderabad.
Through the annual White Marathon, LVPEI also raises funds for the early diagnosis and treatment of retinoblastoma, an eye cancer that threatens the life and sight of children.
Runs are divided into four categories, including 10K and 5K for timed runs, and fun runs for untimed 5K and 3K distances. It is also a qualifier for NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2023.
“I believe this Whitathon will be a success and we should be phasing out retinoblastoma by 2030,” said VVS Laxman, while Dr Swathi Kaliki, LVPEI Ophthalmic Oncologist and Head of the Global Eye Cancer Institute for Ophthalmic Surgery, added: ” This is critical to raising awareness of retinoblastoma and educating the public on the importance of prompt medical attention.”
LVPEI Founder Chairman Dr. Gullapalli N Rao and other senior doctors attended the meeting.
