India beat New Zealand 1-0 in the three-match series after the third T20I between the two teams ended in a draw via the Duckworth-Lewis method following a rain break.

Napier: The third T20I match between the two teams ended in a draw via the Duckworth-Lewis method on Tuesday, with India beating New Zealand’s three-match series 1-0 after a break from rain at McLean Park.

Hardik Pandya’s India won their second T20I by 65 runs at Mount Maunganui after their first match in Wellington was knocked out without a bowl.

After New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first, Indian walkers Mohammed Siraj (4/17) and Arshdeep Singh (4/37) put on a sensational bowling display, each bowling four despite a fight Wickets and four wickets to beat Black Caps Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips’ half-century for 160

According to DLS, 76 would have been India’s winning score after nine overs, but they were 75, which was par. Due to incessant rain at McLean Park, the game could not be resumed and ended in a draw.

Earlier, it was Ashdeep who provided India with an early break, packing Finn Allen for three in the second over. Conway and Mark Chapman, backing up Kane Williamson, stabilized the situation before Siraj substituted Chapman for 12 points, leaving it 44-2 after 5.2 overs.

Since then, Conway and Phillips have taken their time to rebuild the New Zealand bureau. Conway looked good with his hands and had a fine innings, hitting his half-century in 39 balls, while Phillips wasn’t at his best but pushed some much-needed boundaries And plenty of sixes, providing a boost to the hosts’ innings.

In their respective fifties, Conway and Phillips stitched together a key partnership of 86 points for the third wicket. However, the New Zealander quickly lost wickets once Siraj ended the stands in the 16th over by removing Phillips.

Both Siraj and Arshdeep joined forces to lead India’s comeback as New Zealand failed to gain momentum and crashed in the final few overs. From a good position of 130/2 for 15.4 overs, the New Zealander added just 30 runs and conceded eight wickets in his last 24 balls, taking 160 for 19.4 overs.
