New Delhi: India recorded 210 new coronavirus infections in a single day, while the number of active cases fell further to 4,047, according to figures updated by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday.
The total number of COVID-19 is now 4.46 crore (4,46,74,649), it said.
The 8am update showed the death toll from the disease had climbed to 5,30,654, with Kerala state checking one death.
Active cases account for 0.01 percent of the total number of infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.80 percent, according to the Ministry of Health website.
The number of active COVID-19 cases fell by 181 in 24 hours.
The number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 4,41,39,948, while the case fatality rate was 1.19%.
According to the ministry’s website, 2,199.6 million doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far in the national vaccination campaign.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in India has crossed the 2 million mark on 7th August 2020; Rs 3 million on 23rd August; 4 million on 5th September and 5 million on 16th September. It exceeded 6 million on September 28; 7 million on October 11, and exceeded 8 million on October 29; 9 million on November 20, and exceeded 1 million on December 19.
India passed the grim milestone of 20 million coronavirus cases on May 4, 3 million on June 23 last year and 4 million on January 25 this year.
