SS Rajamouli’s RRR grossed over $12.5 billion worldwide and won 60 international awards out of 131 nominations.

Hyderabad: RRR, India’s most successful film, completes a year today. The film opens on March 25, 2022, and it wreaks havoc on its opening day. A huge frenzy erupted in the theater from fans and other Telugu audiences. One man behind all this is SS Rajamouli, and today we should definitely pay tribute to this master of cinema for his vision to make some of the best films in modern Indian cinema.
RRR has gained a lot in this year’s journey. The film has grossed more than $12.5 billion worldwide. It has become the most successful film of 2022. RRR also tops the list of most watched Indian movies online globally. The film even set box office records in Japan and the United States. After creating huge box office records internationally, RRR began collecting numerous awards worldwide.
RRR tagged the first-ever Oscar for an Indian production with the song “Naatu Naatu”. As we all know, the song was voted Oscar for Best Original Song. Thanks to MM Keeravaani for the great work. Special thanks to the lead Jr.NTR and Ram Charan who put in all their efforts for the best dance moves under the choreography of Prem Rakshit. Thanks also to lyricist Chandrabose and singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. Of course, the mastermind behind all this, SS Rajamouli, deserves applause from every corner of the world.
To date, RRR has bagged 60 international awards out of 131 nominations. Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, New York Film Critics Association Best Director, Film Critics Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Hollywood Film Critics Association Best Special Effects, and Saturn Award for Best International Film are special among them. Most notably besides that, RRR is the only Indian film in modern cinema to have successfully screened for 365 consecutive days anywhere in the world.
Based on current hype and expectations, RRR should have a sequel. Well, many movie lovers around the world hope so. Even SS Rajamouli and his father Vijayendra Prasad hinted at the possibility of a sequel. It was worth the wait, let’s hope it happens soon.
