Calcutta: Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 49 points in the Indian Premier League here on Sunday.
Devon Conway, Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane quickly slammed half-centuries after being asked to bat to guide CSK to an impressive 235 runs in four overs. Dube (21 off 50 balls) and Rahane (29 off 71 balls) maintained their scoring rate, tying together 85 runs from just 32 balls to keep CSK’s scoring rate high.
CSK’s top single took most of the KKR bowlers to the cleaners to rack up big runs.
Young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma (2/29 for 4) was KKR’s lone bright spot in the bowling department.
Chasing, KKR managed eight of 186 in their 20 games.
Jason Roy’s 26-ball 61 and Rinku Singh’s 33-ball 53 remained unbeaten, but it wasn’t enough to chase the mammoth target.
