Chennai: Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings by three points in the IPL here on Wednesday.
Chennai Super Kings were on target for 176 and were limited to 172 for six runs as Sandeep Sharma completed two perfect box shots to keep Mahendra Singh Dhoni (32 off 17 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (25 off 15 balls) in check. Ravichandran Ashwin was the top RR bowler with figures of 2/25.
Earlier, Jos Buttler had scored 52 off 36 balls, while Rajasthan Royals had 175 off 8 balls after taking the lead.
Butler hit three sixes and a four in his overs while adding 77 for the second wicket with Devdutt Padikkal (38 off 26 balls).
Ashwin (22 off 30) and Shimron Hetmyer (18 off 30) also made valuable contributions.
Ravindra Jadeja (2/21) had CSK’s best stats, while rookie Akash Singh and youngster Tushar Deshpande also had two wickets each.
