Hyderabad: Leading property developer Vamsiram Builders is being searched by Income Tax (IT) department officials on Tuesday.
IT detectives are conducting simultaneous searches in Hyderabad and Vijayawada and Nellore in neighboring Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier on Tuesday, a team of around 20 IT officers began searching the homes and offices of the CEO, managing directors, directors, partners and investors.
The search was carried out at the offices of company executives in upscale Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
Officials are examining records after receiving complaints of alleged tax evasion. Members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were also deployed to provide protection for IT officers.
Searches could continue throughout the day, possibly even into Wednesday.
