Mumbai: The upcoming Jagran Film Festival will host a seven-film retrospective of veteran actor Anupam Kher.
The films will include Saaransh, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Shiv Shastri Balboa, Wednesday, Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Mara, The Accidental Prime Minister and the yet-to-be-released Signature.
The 11th edition of the Jagran Film Festival will commemorate the actor’s remarkable journey with a retrospective, celebrating his performances that left an indelible mark on Indian and international cinema.
Anupam Kher commented: “The Jagran Film Festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals celebrating Indian and international cinema. I am delighted to announce that seven of my most famous films will be screened at the festival. I thank the members of the jury for awarding me this honor and giving the audience the opportunity to witness the magic of storytelling. See you at the movies.”
For Anupam, the achievement is doubly significant as his upcoming film, Signature, will be screened at the coveted film festival in addition to the screenings of his already released films. He also co-produced and starred in this film with KC Bokadia under Anupam Kher Productions.
Directed by Gajendra Ahire, the film is a direct-to-digital film and will be shown on ZEE5. Anupam made his Hindi film debut in Mahesh Bhatt’s drama “Saaransh,” playing a 65-year-old retired middle-class teacher who loses his son. Although Kyle’s performance earned him widespread acclaim, the film was a moderate success at the box office.
The Jagran Film Festival is a touring film festival and the upcoming festival will kick off in Delhi on August 3rd.
Then, it will travel to Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Dehradun, Hisar, Gurugram, Ludhiana, Patna, Darbanga, Ranchi, Raipur, Indore, Siliguri and finally Mumbai on August 14.
