Jagadish Reddy says Kalyana Lakshmi scheme eases financial burden on girls’ families as their marriage expenses used to be a major challenge

Surya pets: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy said on Wednesday that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s creative Kalyana Lakshmi scheme has changed society’s attitude towards girls who are no longer seen as a burden on the family and are allowed to carry on with their lives. The same goes for research.
Distributing checks for the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme to beneficiaries in Munagala, Jagadish Reddy said the scheme has eased the financial burden on the girls’ families as their marriage expenses used to be a major challenge. He said the state government had put women’s welfare first, citing several programs the state government had in place for women’s welfare. With improved educational facilities and programs for girls, no parents now consider girls to be a burden. He said that the state government has set up special boarding education institutions for girls and women, so that girls from poor families can also receive high-quality education.
The state government also provides financial assistance to those suffering from various ailments through CM’s Relief Fund. Apart from this, the development of healthcare facilities in government hospitals is comparable to corporate hospitals. The rise in hospital admissions and outpatient visits points to increased confidence in government hospitals.
