Karim Nagar: Mayor Y Sunil Rao said the company is paying special attention to the development of the newly incorporated villages and has decided to spend Rs 1.47 billion on various development works.
He informed that proposals had been sent to the state government and said works would begin once funds were released. Other developments costing Rs 1.2 billion were also called for tenders.
Attending the plenary meeting of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, Sunil Rao said that the summer action plan has been successfully implemented to overcome the water supply problem in summer. He pledged to take steps to provide drinking water to the merged villages in the near future.
The laying of potable water pipes has cost Rs 5.7 million and is 50% complete. Currently, water is being supplied to some places in Rekurthi, Sitarampur and Arepalli. In the next few days, drinking water will be supplied to Theegalaguttapalli, Sadasivpalli, Alugunur and Vallampahad through completion of pending works.
