Kochi: A 36-year-old guest worker from Assam died after a colleague allegedly used a compressor to blow air into his rectum, police said on Tuesday.
The incident happened near Perumbavoor on Monday. Both of them work in private institutions.
Police said Mintu died at a nearby hospital and charges were filed under Section 304 of the IPC against Sidharth, also from Assam.
Article 304 provides for penalties for culpable homicide which does not amount to murder.
“Sidharth claimed that they used to blow compressed air on each other due to the heat. But this time he tried to blow it into Minto’s rectum and Minto lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital but survived,” the police said.
Police detained Sidharth for further questioning.
