Kota Goodham: District tax collector Anudeep Durishetti has directed officials to identify child labor hotspots to prevent child labor in the region.
The Collector convened a fusion meeting of Operation Muskan and Operation Smile here on Tuesday, asking officials to monitor hotspots and open cases against those who employ children to work. He directed Labor officials to carry out inspections and lodge reports with the tax department and the police. The origin of the children rescued in Operation Muskan must be analyzed in order to take preventive measures.
Children rescued in Operation Musk and Operation Smile should be given seats in social welfare dormitories to provide them with education. Officials are required to inspect the facilities in Bala Raksha Bhavan and file a report. The government provided compensation of Rs 154 crore to 389 children under the POCSO Act. Durishetti said that special attention must be paid to preventing child marriage and that parents who practice child marriage must be brought to justice.
Dr SP Vineeth freed 348 child laborers in six years
In a statement, Police Commissioner Dr Vineeth G said 348 child laborers had been rescued and handed over to their parents in the area over the past six years as part of Operation Muskan. Of these, 277 were boys and 71 were girls.
Last year, 64 child laborers were rescued, including 52 boys and 12 girls. Operation Muskan-IX was launched on July 1 and will continue until July 31, he said.
