Hyderabad: On Saturday, the central government extended the deadline for the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal (KWDT) to March 31, 2024.
The Ministry of Jal Shakti has issued an order for this. An official from the water resources department said the center decided to extend the deadline as a ruling on the settlement of the water dispute has not yet been made. In fact, the court’s verdict will be issued on August 1 this year.
The official added that the claims in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are still ongoing and judgments may take longer, hence the Center’s decision to extend the court’s deadline.
