Chikkamagaluru: The suicide of an underage girl in Chikkamagaluru district took a strange turn when police recovered her death note, in which she blamed a BJP worker.
The victim has been identified as a 17-year-old student studying at Pre-University College. She died at a hospital on Saturday. She wrote a suicide note before she breathed her last.
In the note, she claimed that Hitesh, a 25-year-old BJP worker, staged a drama he fell in love with but cheated on her. The girl also said he harassed her.
The girl was taken to the AJ Hospital in Mangaluru on January 10 after taking the insecticide. The family and relatives of the deceased girl claimed that the police in charge of Kudmukh did not report FIR against the accused.
It was only after the superintendent’s intervention that charges were finally brought against the accused. The parents urged the police to file charges against the accused under Pocso’s rules.
The parents also objected that police have yet to arrest the accused.
