Hyderabad: Industry Minister KT Rama Rao visited the Ambedkar Museum in London and paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution.
The museum shared all information about the circumstances that influenced Dr. Ambedkar’s quest for equality. The minister toured the entire building, including the room where Ambedkar lived.
On the occasion, the minister, through Shreeranjani Kanagavel, First Secretary to the Indian High Commission in the UK, presented to the museum authorities a replica of the Ambedkar statue installed in Hyderabad. He also presented Ambedkar’s portrait to the Indian High Commission.
The British Federation of Ambedkarite and Buddhist Organizations (FABO UK), represented by chairman Santosh Dass and joint secretary C Gautam, applauded the efforts of the Telangana government and issued an official congratulatory letter praising Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s initiative.
The letter read: “Congratulations on your excellent initiative in Telangana in recognition of Dr BR Ambedkar’s contribution to state building and uplifting of marginalized communities. On the 132nd anniversary of Dr Ambedkar’s birth, the world It is a matter of pride not only for Telangana but also for India that the tallest 125ft Dr Ambedkar statue in the world has been placed in the heart of Hyderabad. FABO UK also congratulates Rama Rao for recognizing the extraordinary efforts of the Telangana government in highlighting Ambedkar’s contribution to India.
Santosh Dass, President of FABO UK, presented the Minister with a signed copy of Ambedkar in London, which she co-authored with William Gould and Christophe Jaffrelot.
According to an official statement, the Minister of Industry’s visit to the Ambedkar Museum in London is part of a wider effort by the Telangana government to highlight the value and contribution of Dr BR Ambedkar.
