Dubai: Kuwait executed seven prisoners on Wednesday, a rare mass execution in the tiny oil-rich country, even as its plans faced international criticism.
Those executed face premeditated murder and other charges in the emirate, the state-run Kuna news agency said.
It identified the victims as three Kuwaiti men, a Kuwaiti woman, a Syrian man, a Pakistani man and an Ethiopian woman.
Kuwait said the executions took place in its central prison. It did not specify the method of execution, although the emirate usually hangs condemned prisoners. However, it can also use firing squad.
