Attorney-General reviews operations against organized crime and asks officials to be more vigilant against anti-social elements

Ranchi: Jharkhand Police Chief (DGP) Ajay Kumar Singh on Wednesday directed officials to crack down on gangs involved in organized crime.
The Attorney-General has reviewed the fight against organized crime and asked officials to be more vigilant against anti-social elements.
A statement from police headquarters said: “In light of recent incidents, the Attorney-General has asked officers to tighten the ropes on gangs involved in organized crime… He has asked officers to keep vigilance on criminals in prisons so that they cannot use their mobile phones to manipulate the gangs.”
The Attorney-General said necessary steps were being taken to strengthen jammers in prisons.
He said gangs were hiring unemployed youths and asking them to make threatening phone calls for extortion.
Home Secretary Avinash Kumar, who was present at the meeting, asked officials to take tough action against drug traffickers.
He asked the police to be sensitive in their treatment of the elderly and to instill a sense of security in the population.
