Mancherial: The long-awaited Godavari River Viaduct between Mancherial and Anthargaon in Peddapalli district has finally progressed.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced the high-rise bridge across Godavari while speaking at a voting rally at the Mandar Center in Naspur in 2018. As a result, the bridge was approved at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.25 billion. The cost of the facility has been revised up to Rs 1.65 crore.
Received administrative approval and called for tender in 2022. Vallabha Constructions Private Limited had previously packaged the work for erecting a high-rise bridge across Pranahita in Gudem village, Chintalamanepalli mandal, Kumram Bheem Asifabad district. Soil testing has already begun at the site for the construction of the bridge. Another soil test is being carried out at the bridge’s columns.
The chief minister is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the facility’s works on June 9.
With the advent of this facility, the travel distance between Mancherial, Peddapalli and Karimnagar will be reduced by about 20 km. Currently, motorists are forced to take the Godavarikhani-Ramagundam route to reach Peddapalli and Karimnagar.
