Nottingham: City clinched their third consecutive Premier League title after second-placed Arsenal lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest on Saturday to end their season-ending collapse.
City have an unassailable four-point lead, while Arsenal, once long-time leaders, have just one game left.
It was City’s seventh league title in 12 years, with the Abu Dhabi-owned club changing the face of English football.
City’s latest title is Guardiola’s fifth in seven years at the club, thanks in no small part to its end-of-season winning streak of 11, as well as Arsenal’s implosion, at a time when the The first league title since 2009 is just around the corner.
Arsenal led by eight points on 1 April but have won just two of their eight games since.
A win at the City Stadium could have delayed the inevitable, but Taiwo Awoniyi’s 19th-minute goal ended the title race with City still three games to play.
The victory also ensured that Forest would stay out of relegation in their first season back in the top flight since 1999.
