San Francisco: Microsoft has rolled out a new “voice chat” feature for its AI-powered Bing Chat on the desktop, allowing users to talk to an AI chatbot by clicking the microphone icon in the Bing Chat box.
Currently, the voice chat feature supports five languages – English, Japanese, French, German and Mandarin. The company says more languages will be added soon.
“We currently support English, Japanese, French, German and Mandarin, with more languages to come. Just ask Bing Chat – if a woodchuck can throw wood, how much wood can a groundhog throw?” Microsoft said in a blog post on Friday. Additionally, Bing Chat supports text-to-speech answering, which uses its own voice to answer your questions, the company says.
“Using voice input, ask Bing Chat—what’s the hardest tongue twister you know?” the company said. Meanwhile, Microsoft has once again raised the turn limit on Bing Chat to 30 chats per session and 300 chats per day.
“Great news, we’re raising the turn limit on Bing Chat again to 30 per conversation and 300 per day,” tweeted Jordi Ribas, CVP of Search and AI at Microsoft.
Over the past few months, the company has gradually increased the limits of the chatbot to improve its usability.
