Hyderabad: MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao said that in order to transform Hyderabad into a global city, the state government has been working on continuous development and improvement of the city’s infrastructure.
Minister Mahaparinirvana Vaikuntadhamam, who inaugurated the 854 crore Rs 854 crore Begumpet here on Tuesday, said a host of new modern initiatives such as roads, flyovers, parks and bridges have changed the contours of the city.
Ministers said 100,000 units would be allocated in the city soon, under the Dignity Housing concept proposed by the state. Efforts are being made to provide all amenities in order to meet the growing needs of the growing city and its growing population. “Based on the directive of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the focus is on development that meets the needs and aspirations of the people,” he said.
Investment has been pouring into the city due to political stability and quality of leadership. “The Chief Minister has been leading the country on a progressive path, understanding the needs of the weaker parts of the economy, focusing on basic amenities and infrastructure,” Ramalao said, while cautioning people not to believe false and misleading statements made by political tourists and irresponsible politicians
The minister took a dig at the coalition government, saying that when floods hit Hyderabad, the Telangana government spent Rs 6.6 crore on relief measures and the center did not even provide 6 paise.
He recalled that superstar Rajinikanth and actress Laya praised Hyderabad’s huge development compared to New York. “I am not saying that the whole of Hyderabad has changed drastically, I admit that there is still a lot of work to be done. These projects that have been pending for decades are being resolved one by one,” the minister said. Minister of Livestock T Srinivas Yadav and others participated.
