Kota Gooden: Munnuru Kapu Sankshema Sangham district unit leaders have asked political parties to allocate the Kothagudem parliamentary seat to BC candidates in the upcoming election.
Of the 10 parliamentary seats in the former Khammam district, only three are general seats, Sangham district chairman Kasa Hanmatha Rao and general secretary L Gopala Krishnaiah told the media here on Monday. In every election, all political parties field cash-rich OC candidates in Khammam and Palair. In Kothagudem, which has 60% of the BC electorate, BC candidates occasionally get a chance to contest elections, while OC is present in most elections, they said.
Since the Kothagudem constituency consists of the largest number of BC voters, each political party vying for a seat must give its vote to a BC candidate. The Munnuru Kapu leader noted that an action plan will be drawn up soon to protect BC’s interests.
