Hyderabad: Eid al-Fitr is being celebrated with joy and religious fervor across the state on Saturday.
To mark the occasion, special prayers are organized in all Eid al-Fitr and mosques. The largest gathering took place in Eidgah Mir Alam, where about 200,000 people attended prayers.
Khateeb Mecca Masjid, Maulana Hafiz Mufti Rizwan Qureshi sahab leading Eid prayers. Mass gatherings were also witnessed at Mecca Mosque, Khadeem Eidgah Madannapet, Masab Tank Hockey Grounds, Eidgah in First Lancer and others.
Elderly people and children in festive attire gather at Eid al-Fitr and mosques for prayers from early morning. After the prayers, they greet each other and express their wishes.
In Eidgah Mir Alam, the state Wakf committee has made careful arrangements. Senior police officers attending Eid send Eid greetings to the community.
AIMIM chairman Asaduddin Owaisi also attended the prayer meeting at Eidgah Mir Alam to meet the public.
There is a festive spirit in the city as every family visits relatives and well-wishers send them Eid greetings. Inside the house, guests are treated to ‘sheerkurma’ and ‘biryani’.
