To mark the festivities and festivals, people in festive attire gather in mosques and Eid al-Fitr across the city and participate in Eid prayers.
During Eid al-Fitr in Mir Alam, prayers are led by Maulan Rizwan Qureshi of the Khateeb Mecca Masjid.
People also attended prayers at a nearby local mosque, which was held as early as 6.30am, taking into account other Eid-related tasks. After the prayers, people rush back to their homes to perform the main task of offering the cow ‘qurbani’.
