The Ministry of Textiles has issued a communiqué according to which the amalgamation of the regional offices of the National Jute Board will result in the transfer of liabilities and assets, manpower of both offices to the head office in Kolkata.
The move could hamper the state’s efforts to reduce its reliance on jute from other states, especially at a time when the state is scrapping plastic and demand for jute is rising due to increased produce and procurement in the state. , Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh to purchase sacks and pay Rs 49 to Rs 62 per bag.
