He doesn’t love her: Warangal National Institute of Technology recently launched a groundbreaking academic initiative, the new four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Science – Bachelor of Education dual degree programme.
As directed by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and following the initiatives put forward by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the program offers students the opportunity to pursue both Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degrees.
Traditionally, students have to spend five years completing the two degrees separately. However, this innovative program at NITW enables students to complete both degrees in a compressed four-year period, resulting in significant time savings. This groundbreaking structure not only simplifies the educational journey, but also aligns with the contemporary educational landscape.
NITW’s Bachelor of Science-Bachelor of Education dual degree program offers students the choice of three majors: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. During the first semester, students are free to choose their preferred major, thus enabling them to specialize in their chosen field of study from the start.
Focused on equipping future educators with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the 21st century, the program is carefully designed to produce competent teachers who can thrive in a global context. Students will be exposed to a comprehensive curriculum that integrates contemporary educational practices with Indian values and traditions, developing a comprehensive understanding of teaching methods and cultural nuances.
This innovative program is open to students who have successfully completed a science course plus a secondary education. To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct national-level entrance examinations for aspiring candidates.
