Operation Kaveri: 128 Indian nationals evacuated from Sudan arrive in Saudi Arabia

Jeddah: As many as 128 Indian nationals evacuated from conflict-torn Sudan arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia aboard an Indian Air Force C-130J aircraft under “Operation Kaveri”, Indian Foreign Minister V Muraleedharan said on Thursday.

Muraleedharan, along with officials, received the Indian national in Jeddah.

Muraleedharan tweeted: “Another IAF C-130J aircraft under #OperationKaveri arrived in Jeddah with 128 Indians, this is the 4th aircraft from Sudan. Efforts are being made to secure all Indians arriving in Jeddah people to be sent to India as soon as possible,” Muraleedharan said efforts were being made to send Indian nationals arriving in Jeddah to India as soon as possible. He posted a video showing Indian nationals disembarking from a plane in Jeddah.

Earlier, the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted: “4th IAF C-130J flight from Port Sudan to Jeddah with 128 passengers on board. This was evacuated from Sudan according to #OperationKaveri The sixth batch of Indians, bringing the total to nearly 1,100.” India launched Operation Kaveri to bring back Indians stranded in conflict-affected Sudan. Earlier, a third IAF C-130J arrived in Jeddah from Port Sudan. V Muraleedharan tweeted: “Third IAF C-130J from Port Sudan arrived in Jeddah, happy to welcome 136 Indians on board. #OperationKaveri will continue until we save all Indians who want to go home. The first flight carrying Indian nationals evacuated from violence-hit Sudan landed in the country’s capital early Wednesday. When Indian nationals arrived in Delhi from Sudan, they chanted slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, “Indian Army Zindabad” and “PM Narendra Modi Zindabad”.

The New Delhi-bound flight left Jeddah airport early Wednesday with 360 Indians on board. V Muraleedharan tweeted: “Glad to see off 360 Indians at Jeddah Airport on flight to New Delhi who will soon be arriving in their home country to be reunited with their families. Govt is working tirelessly to evacuate from Sudan under #OperationKaveri Indian nationals and bring them back to their homeland.” Safe home. Sudan is experiencing bloodshed due to clashes between the army and paramilitary forces. Despite allegations of violence despite a 72-hour ceasefire, India has deployed its military aircraft and warships to rescue Indians from the North African country.

Speaking of Year, Surender Singh Yadav, an Indian national who returned from Sudan, said: “I went there for an IT project and got stuck there. The embassy and the government also helped a lot. There are about 1,000 people in Jeddah. The government is evacuating quickly.” When the special plane carrying 360 Indian evacuees from Sudan landed in Delhi from Jeddah, the Indian people were extremely happy.

“The Indian government is very supportive of us. It is a big deal that we got here safely because it is very dangerous. I thank Prime Minister Modi and the Indian government,” another Indian national who returned from Sudan told Year.
